Chocolate Dipped Sticks

Chocolate Dipped Sticks by Mrs U Makes

A few days ago, whilst in the biscuit isle of the supermarket, I stood in front of a box of Mikado and wondered when I'd last had this tasty chocolate stick. I really love these and was seconds away from picking up a box when a little voice said "You do know that you can make these yourself" "Yes, I can make these myself", I thought, so I gathered together all the things that I would need.

These are great for kids to make, I let mine make a couple each, knowing that they wouldn't want to wait for the chocolate to set before eating them.

If you're little ones are a little more patient, you can get them to work making different variations. I (we) made caramel, ginger biscuits, nuts, and coconut chocolate dipped sticks.

Here's what you'll need:

300g chocolate
175g fudge
Pretzel sticks
Bread sticks (break in half if very long)
Ginger biscuits, crushed
Mixed ground nuts
Shredded coconut

Here's what you'll need to do:

1. Place the fudge in a sauce pan and melt over a medium heat. Once the fudge has melted, use a spoon or spatula to coat some of the pretzel sticks. Place each stick on parchment paper to set.

2. Once set place in the freezer. This stage isn't absolutely necessary, however, the chocolate will set a lot quicker.

3. Place the other topping ingredients in a shallow bowl or plate.

4. Place the chocolate in a jug/mug or something similar and melt in the microwave, stirring after every 30 seconds.

5. Once melted, dip either a pretzel or bread stick into the chocolate,  then roll in one of the toppings. Place on parchment paper. When finished, place the chocolate dipped sticks in the fridge to set.

6. When ready, do the same with the fudge coated pretzel sticks.

Eat and enjoy.

I think these would also work well with sprinkles. What would you suggest?
